TULSA, Okla. - The 16th-ranked Tulsa softball team plays a Conference USA road series at UTSA Friday and Saturday at Roadrunner field.

The Golden Hurricane (38-5, 12-2 C-USA) and Roadrunners (20-23, 7-8 C-USA) play a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. Friday and a single game at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Hurricane has won 20 of its last 22 games, including two of three against East Carolina last weekend. UTSA is 5-5 in its last 10 games, which includes a series loss at FIU last weekend. Softball Splits Sunday at Aggie Classic
The Tulsa softball team split its two games on the final day of the Aggie Classic, defeating Texas-San Antonio, 3-2 in eight innings, and falling to No. 15 Texas A&M, 5-1, Sunday afternoon at the Aggie Softball Complex.

The Hurricane is ranked No. 16 in the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 and No. 18 the USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 and polls released April 15.

Tulsa hits .346 (404-for-1166) with 247 RBI, 277 runs, 62 doubles, 15 triples and 42 home runs, and has a .533 slugging percentage and a .422 on-base percentage with 141 walks. The Hurricane has a 1.42 team ERA with 327 strikeouts, 103 walks, 188 hits, 75 runs and 57 earned runs allowed, and has a .187 opponent batting average.

Tulsa is led in hitting by senior shortstop Jill Barrett, who has a .487 (74-for-152) batting average with 42 runs scored, seven doubles, 23 RBI, a .645 slugging percentage and a .524 OBP. Freshman DP Jill Roye hits .402 (35-for-87) with 14 runs, 32 RBI, a .655 slugging and a .495 OBP. Senior center fielder Cierra Hughes hits .368 (39-for-106) with 31 runs, five doubles, three triples, four homers, 28 RBI, a .585 slugging percentage and a .481 OBP. Junior catcher Erica Sampson hits .339 (42-for-124) with 28 RBI, 35 runs, seven doubles, eight homers, 23 walks, a .589 slugging and a .471 OBP. Freshman third baseman Maggie Withee is hitting .366 (37-for-101) with 23 runs, 10 RBI, two doubles, three triples and a .407 OBP. Senior right fielder Haley Henshaw is hitting .330 (35-for-106) with 28 RBI, 20 runs, seven doubles, four homers, a .509 slugging and a .408 OBP.

In the circle, senior Aimee Creger is 19-1 with a 1.28 ERA in 131.0 innings, and has allowed 66 hits, 29 runs and 24 earned runs, with 229 strikeouts and 65 walks. Junior Bailey Erwin is 10-2 with a 1.34 ERA in 78.1 innings with four saves, and is allowing 71 hits, 24 runs and 15 earned runs with 49 strikeouts and 11 walks. Sophomore Caitlin Sill is 9-2 with a 1.77 ERA in 71.0 innings, allowing 51 hits, 20 runs and 18 earned runs, with 49 strikeouts and 24 walks.

Tulsa and UTSA have played 12 times. UTSA leads the series 7-5. The teams last played in 2012, when the Golden Hurricane won twice in a tournament at Texas A&M. TU won those games 7-6 and 3-2. The teams split in 2009, as the Hurricane won 4-3 and the Roadrunners won 4-3. The previous meetings came in 2004 (UTSA 8-2), 2001 (TU 5-3, UTSA 2-1, TU 11-3), 2000 (UTSA 2-1), 1994 (UTSA 5-3), and 1993 (UTSA 5-2, 7-0).
