TULSA, Okla. - The 15th-ranked Tulsa softball team returns home for its final Conference USA weekend series of the season when it welcomes Middle Tennessee for a three-game set Saturday and Sunday at the Collins Family Softball Complex.

The Golden Hurricane (42-5, 15-2 C-USA) and Blue Raiders (8-39, 2-15 C-USA) play a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday and a single game at noon Sunday. Live video and live stats of all three games will be available on www.TulsaHurricane.com.

The six Hurricane seniors - Jill Barrett, Shelby Blanton, Aimee Creger, Haley Henshaw, Emma Horton and Cierra Hughes - will be honored in a ceremony on the field following the conclusion of Sunday's game.

 

 

The Hurricane is ranked No. 15 in the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate and No. 18 the USA Today/NFCA Division I polls.

Tulsa hits .339 (439-for-1295) with 266 RBI, 296 runs, 64 doubles, 15 triples and 46 home runs, and has a .518 slugging percentage and a .417 on-base percentage with 158 walks. The Hurricane has a 1.48 team ERA with 372 strikeouts, 115 walks, 204 hits, 87 runs and 66 earned runs allowed, and has a .183 opponent batting average.

Tulsa is led in hitting by senior shortstop Jill Barrett, who has a .473 (80-for-169) batting average with 44 runs scored, seven doubles, 25 RBI, a .615 slugging percentage and a .514 OBP. Freshman DP Jill Roye hits .371 (36-for-97) with 15 runs, 32 RBI, a .598 slugging and a .460 OBP. Senior center fielder Cierra Hughes hits .364 (43-for-118) with 32 runs, five doubles, three triples, four homers, 29 RBI, a .559 slugging percentage and a .479 OBP. Junior catcher Erica Sampson hits .331 (46-for-139) with 31 RBI, 38 runs, seven doubles, nine homers, 25 walks, a .576 slugging and a .466 OBP. Freshman third baseman Maggie Withee is hitting .354 (40-for-113) with 25 runs, 11 RBI, two doubles, three triples and a .397 OBP. Senior right fielder Haley Henshaw is hitting .325 (39-for-120) with 29 RBI, 22 runs, seven doubles, five homers, a .513 slugging and a .402 OBP.

In the circle, senior Aimee Creger is 22-1 with a 1.12 ERA in 156.2 innings, and has allowed 73 hits, 30 runs and 25 earned runs, with 269 strikeouts and 74 walks. Junior Bailey Erwin is 11-2 with a 1.45 ERA in 82.0 innings with four saves, and is allowing 75 hits, 26 runs and 17 earned runs with 51 strikeouts and 12 walks. Sophomore Caitlin Sill is 9-2 with a 2.28 ERA in 73.2 innings, allowing 56 hits, 29 runs and 24 earned runs, with 52 strikeouts and 26 walks.

Tulsa and Middle Tennessee have played once. Middle Tennessee leads the series 1-0. The Blue Raiders won the only meeting between the two schools, 3-0 in 2002 at a neutral site.
