TULSA, Okla. - The 25th-ranked Tulsa softball team continues its seven-game road swing when it travels to El Paso for a three-game Conference USA series at UTEP this weekend.

Tulsa (34-13-1, 13-5 C-USA) and UTEP (12-30, 1-16 C-USA) play a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 3 p.m. CT, and a single game at noon Sunday. The Hurricane, which is ranked No. 25 in the USA Today/NFCA Coaches Top 25 poll, is playing its second consecutive road C-USA series.

Softball Completes Sweep of UTEP with 11-0 Win Sunday
Seniors Jessica Stoelke and Skylar Swanson combined for three RBI and three runs scored to lead Tulsa to an 11-0 (5 inn.) win over UTEP, clinching the three-game Conference USA sweep Sunday afternoon at the Collins Family Softball Complex.

Tulsa hits .286 (379-for-1325) with 216 RBI, 238 runs, 57 doubles, 12 triples and 31 home runs, and has a .417 slugging percentage and a .365 on-base percentage with 146 walks. The Hurricane has a 1.93 team ERA with 342 strikeouts, 149 walks, 242 hits, 117 runs and 89 earned runs allowed, and has a .207 opponent batting average.

Tulsa is led in hitting by junior third baseman Jill Barrett, who hits .382 (63-for-165) with 36 runs scored, 25 RBI, a .479 slugging percentage and a .421 OBP. Senior center fielder Caitlin Everett hits .324 (56-for-173) with 39 runs, a .358 slugging percentage and a .361 OBP. Senior Lacey Middlebrooks hits .319 (37-for-116) with 18 runs, 24 RBI, six home runs, 11 doubles, 25 walks, a .569 slugging percentage and a .455 OBP. Junior Haley Henshaw hits .323 (43-for-133) with 38 RBI, four home runs, 19 runs, a .481 slugging percentage and a .372 on-base percentage. Senior shortstop Samantha Cobb hits .323 (50-for-155) with 41 RBI, 34 runs, eight homers, four triples, six doubles, a .568 slugging percentage and a .401 on-base percentage.



In the circle, junior Aimee Creger is 19-5 with a 1.09 ERA in 153.2 innings, and has allowed 100 hits, 29 runs and 24 earned runs, with 229 strikeouts and 53 walks. Middlebrooks is 13-3 with a 1.65 ERA in 119.0 innings, and has allowed 80 hits, 44 runs and 28 earned runs, with 85 strikeouts and 75 walks.

UTEP hits .268 (306-for-1140) with 165 runs, 145 RBI, 40 doubles, six triples, 18 home runs, 101 walks, a .361 slugging percentage and a .335 on-base percentage. The Miners pitchers carry a 5.01 ERA with 163 strikeouts, 188 walks, 344 hits, 234 runs, 199 earned runs and a .307 opponent batting average in 278.0 innings.

Tulsa and UTEP have played 30 times. Tulsa leads the series, 25-5. Tulsa has won seven in a row in the series, including a sweep last season in Tulsa and in 2011 in El Paso. UTEP last defeated Tulsa in 2010, the middle game of the three-game set in Tulsa. The teams split four games that season, including an early-season neutral-site contest. The Golden Hurricane is 14-1 all-time against the Miners in El Paso.
