TULSA, Okla. - The pairings are set for the 2013 Conference USA Softball Championship, which runs Thursday, May 9 through Saturday, May 11 at the Collins Family Softball Complex on the University of Tulsa campus.

No. 3 seed Tulsa will open the tournament against No. 6 seed UCF at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

UAB earned the No. 1 seed at the Conference USA Softball Championship, finishing the regular-season schedule at 19-4. The Blazers finished a half-game ahead of Houston and No. 24 Tulsa, which both finished 19-5. Houston is the No. 2 seed by virtue of its series win against Tulsa earlier this season.

Marshall will be the No. 4 seed at the C-USA Championship, while East Carolina is the No. 5 seed, UCF is the No. 6 seed, Memphis is the No. 7 seed and Southern Miss is the No. 8 seed.

Tickets for the championship are on sale through the TU Athletics Ticket Office by calling 631-GoTU (4688) or on www.TulsaHurricane.com. All-session tickets can be purchased for $20 (adult) and $10 (youth). Single session tickets are available for $10 (adult) and $5 (youth). Group rates are available for groups of 10 or more for $3/ticket, and must be purchased in advance.

The single elimination tournament begins at 11 a.m. Thursday when No. 2 Houston takes on No. 7 Memphis, followed by Tulsa and UCF at 1:30 p.m. No. 1 UAB and No. 8 Southern Miss play at 4:30 p.m., and No. 4 Marshall and No. 5 East Carolina play the nightcap at 7 p.m.

The semifinals take place on Friday, pairing the winners of Houston-Memphis and Tulsa-UCF at 2 p.m., and the winners of UAB-Southern Miss and Marshall-East Carolina at 4:30 p.m. The championship game will be played at 11 a.m. Saturday and will be televised live by CBS Sports Network.

The Golden Hurricane ended the regular season by winning its last eight games to improve its record to 41-13-1 overall and 19-5 in C-USA play. TU has never been lower than the third seed at the C-USA Championship. Tulsa and UCF (29-24, 10-14 C-USA) played March 29-30 in Tulsa, as the Hurricane won all three games by scores of 6-2, 8-1 and 7-0.

This is the second C-USA Championship hosted by Tulsa. The 2006 C-USA Tournament - the first for the Hurricane as a league member - was also held at TU.
