Creger to Compete for Spot on USA Softball Women's National Team

TULSA, Okla. - University of Tulsa pitcher Aimee Creger will compete this week for a spot on the 2013 USA Softball Women's National Team at the Amateur Softball Association Hall of Fame Complex in Oklahoma City. The tryout runs June 10-12.
The TU senior-to-be from Yukon, Okla., is one of 32 current and former collegiate softball players invited to tryout for 17 places on the national team at the selection camp. The roster will be announced Friday, June 14.
During the three-day selection process athletes will participate in position drills as well as simulated games. The event will be open to the public and also streamed live on www.USASoftball.com.
Creger was the 2013 Conference USA Pitcher of the Year and a Third-Team NFCA All-America selection. She finished the season with a 25-7 record, 1.15 ERA and 286 strikeouts, allowing 38 runs, 33 earned runs and 123 hits in 200.2 innings. She set school single-season records for wins, strikeouts, complete games (26) and strikeouts per seven innings (9.98). Her ERA ranked fourth in the NCAA, 9.98 strikeouts-per-seven-inning average ranked 11th, and the 4.33 hits allowed per seven innings ranked 13th in the nation.
