Vickers, Enrique Earn Spots In NCAA Women's Tennis Championship

Junior Samantha Vickers earns spot in singles bracket, while Vickers and sophomore Isaura Enrique will compete in the doubles tournament

TULSA - A four-year letterwinner . . . owns a career 81-38 singles record and a 62-54 doubles mark . . . a three-time all-WAC performer, earning second-team honors as a freshman and first-team merits her sophomore and junior seasons . . . received all-Conference USA third-team honors as a senior . . . was ranked among the top-20 players in Region V throughout her career . . . garnered WAC Player of the Year honors as a junior . . . named WAC Player of the Week five times in her career . . . won 81 career matches, giving her sole possession of third-place on the school's all-time singles wins list . . . owns a career 15-16 record against ranked opponents . . . was selected to participate in the NCAA Singles Championship her sophomore and junior years.

SENIOR (2005-06) - Did not participate in the fall . . . tallied a 13-9 singles record and a 14-9 doubles mark in the spring . . . earned a No. 51 preseason ITA singles ranking, and with Carla Zabaleta, earned a No. 59 preseason ITA doubles ranking . . . earned all-conference third-team honors . . . a C-USA All-Academic Honoree and on the TU Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

FRESHMAN (2002-03) - Netted a 21-9 singles record, including a 19-5 duel mark . . . posted a team-best 11-match win streak . . . was just the fourth freshman in school history to reach the 20-win plateau . . . completed the season as the 30th-ranked singles player in the Central Region . . . notched a 12-17 doubles record, including a 10-7 mark with Zoe Buhagiar at the No. 3 slot . . . was named the WAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week on March 24 . . . earned all-WAC singles second-team honors . . . advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2002 Omni Hotels Women's Tennis Central Region qualifying draw . . . was an all-WAC Scholar Athlete performer.

PRIOR TO TULSA - Concluded her prep career as the second-ranked U18 tennis player in Buenos Aires and the third-ranked U18 tennis player in Argentina . . . captured both the singles and doubles titles at the Metropolitans Tournament and at the National Tournament as a junior . . . was a finalist at the South American Tournament in Brazil in 1995, and participated in the Orange Bowl Tournament in 1993 and 1994.
