The No. 24 Tulsa women's tennis team suffered its first setback of the spring campaign with a 4-0 decision to No. 20 Clemson on Saturday during the first round of National Indoors.
The Golden Hurricane (2-1) fell behind 1-0 after dropping the double point. Senior Michelle Farley and freshman Saana Saarteinen lost an 8-1 decision at No. 2 doubles, while the freshman doubles duo of Belen Rivera and Renata Kuricova fell at No. 3 doubles, 8-6, to Clemson's Beatrice Gumulay and Anne-Liz Jeukeng.
At No. 3 singles, Farley fell to Gumulya 6-3, 6-3, while at No. 5 singles Benito fell to Romy Koelzer 6-2, 7-6 (7-1). The Tigers clinched the match at the No. 4 flight as Tristen Dewar defeated Saarteinen 6-3, 6-2.
Tulsa will face either conference foe Memphis or host Alabama tomorrow in a 10 a.m. match at the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility.
