STILLWATER, Okla. - The University of Tulsa women's tennis team won four of six singles matches to defeat Oklahoma State 4-3 in Stillwater, Okla., at the Michael and Anne Greenwood Tennis Center on Friday night.

For the first time this season, No. 28 Golden Hurricane (4-1) lost the doubles point. The Golden Hurricane tied the match at one with a Renata Kuricova's 7-6 (5), 7-5 win at the No. 5 singles position, but No. 31 Oklahoma State (0-3) retook the lead, 3-1, after wins at the No. 3 and No. 2 singles positions.

The last three matches went into the tie-breaker third set as the Golden Hurricane won all three matches.

Marcelina Cichon, who was named C-USA Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, pulled the Hurricane within a point, 3-2, with a 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (8) win at the No. 6 singles position.

No. 47 Samantha Vickers tied the score at three with a win over No. 59 Kanyapat Narattana 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (7) at the No. 1 singles position and Maria Sant'Anna gave TU the fourth point with a 7-6 (5), 6-7 (1), 1-0 (8) win at the No. 4 singles position.

The Golden Hurricane finishes the roadstand in West Lafayette, Ind., from Feb. 8-9. TU faces Georgia State at 11 a.m. on Saturday and hosts Purdue at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
