Tulsa Women's Tennis Finishes the Weekend With Another Victory

The University of Tulsa women's tennis team beat Southwest Missouri State, Sunday afternoon, at The Michael D. Case Tennis Center at The University of Tulsa. Tulsa is still undefeated at its new facility and on the season at 5-0.
The, 51st-ranked, Hurricane, won the match 6-1. SMS's lone point came in the marathon match between Marta Rubina and Tulsa's Mariana Barrios, with Rubina winning 4-6, 7-5, 6-3. All of the singles matches were close. Two of the matches went to three sets, while two more were close to going to three sets. Only two of the singles matches were won handily. Five of the 14 overall sets went to seven points.
The doubles matches were just as tough as the singles. Tulsa won all three doubles matches by scores of 8-6, 8-5, and 8-5, giving the Hurricane the doubles point.
Tulsa's, 47th-ranked, Aleksandra Durska won her doubles match teamed with Mariana Barrios, 8-5, and won her singles match against SMS's Ia Zozrashvili, 6-2, 7-6. The singles victory gives her 74 for her career and moves her solely into second place on Tulsa's career singles leader list. She only needed one match to break the tie and pass former Golden Hurricane, two-time All-American, Anousjka van Exel (1997-1999). Durska is now 19 victories away from surpassing Jennifer DeSpain's (1997-2000) mark of 92 career wins.
