NORMAN, Okla. -

The No. 28-ranked Tulsa women's tennis team fell to No. 41 Oklahoma in a 4-3 tilt at the Gregg Wadley Indoor Tennis Pavilion.

The Golden Hurricane (6-3) rallied to tie the match at three apiece, but OU's Mia Lancaster defeated Tulsa senior Michelle Farley in a 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 three-set thriller to give the match to the Sooners.

At No. 3 doubles, junior Maria Sant'Anna and freshman Renata Kuricova defeated Lancaster and Abbi Melrose 8-4, but TU fell at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to drop the doubles point.

Sophomore Isaura Enrique tied the match at one apiece as she defeated Whitney Ritchie 6-1, 2-0 (retired) at No. 2 singles.

The Hurricane knotted the match at two after Samantha Vickers, ranked No. 55 in the nation, claimed a 7-5, 6-4 triumph over Hermon Brhane at No. 1 singles. Brhane entered the match ranked No. 87 in the country.

Freshman Saana Saarteinen took the first set against Whitney Wofford at No. 5 singles, but ultimately fell 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 to the Sooner junior, which gave OU a 3-2 advantage.

Sant'Anna, playing at No. 4 singles, defeated Abbi Melrose in a 7-5, 5-6, 7-6 (7-5) to tie the match at three apiece before Farley lost her tilt at No. 3 singles to Lancaster.

The Golden Hurricane, in the midst of a six-match road swing, will travel to Fayetteville, Ark. next weekend. TU will face No. 55 Ohio State on Saturday, February 23 in a 2 p.m. tilt. Tulsa will conclude the weekend facing No .37 Arkansas in a 12 p.m. affair on Sunday, February 24.
