TU Makes McMurray Winningest Tennis Coach in School History with 5-2 Win over UTA

Tulsa, Oklahoma - Tulsa's 51st-ranked women's tennis team improved to 6-2 this season and made TU Head Coach Paige McMurray the winningest coach in school history with a 5-2 victory over the University of Texas-Arlington at The Michael D. Case Tennis Center at The University of Tulsa.
Tulsa swept UTA in doubles action to capture the doubles point. TU's 57th-ranked combination of senior Jana Sedivec and junior Alicia Pillay improved to 10-1 this season with an 8-3 win at the top doubles spot over Marketa Cizova and Maria Stepanova.
In singles play, Tulsa's 53rd-ranked Aleksandra Durska cruised to her 20th win of the season with, 6-0, 6-1, win over Cizova at No. 1 singles. Pillay topped Carolin Schappacher, 6-1, 6-3, at the No. 2 singles spot. The Broncos earned wins at the No. 3 and No. 4 positions, but Tulsa's twin sister combination of Johanna and Gabriela Zingman secured the victory with a pair of wins at the No. 5 and No. 6 slots, respectively.
With the victory, McMurray surpassed former women's coach and current men's head coach, Vince Westbrook, for first place among TU's career coaching leaders with 53rd career win. In her fourth season, McMurray, a Tulsa native and graduate of Bishop Kelley High School, has a career record of 53-25 (.679). She led the Golden Hurricane to its first and only NCAA Tournament appearance during her second season of 1999-2000.
