TULSA, Okla. -

The No. 29 Tulsa women's tennis squad, led by sophomore Isaura Enrique's come-from-behind triumph at No. 2 singles, rallied to defeat No. 16 Notre Dame, 4-3, Saturday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

After dropping the first set, Enrique staved off elimination in the second set tiebreak, as she trailed 6-3 in the tiebreak to Jennifer Kellner. With the match tied at three all, Enrique took the final five points to win the set and to keep TU's hopes alive. In the third set, she grabbed the first five points en route to 4-6, 7-6 (8-6), 6-1 match clinching triumph for Tulsa.

The win for the Golden Hurricane (13-5) marked its 42nd consecutive victory at home, but the streak looked in doubt as TU trailed 3-1.

In doubles action, junior Samantha Vickers and Enrique, ranked No. 19 in doubles play, earned an 8-1 win over Chrissie McGaffigan and Jennifer Kellner on the top court, but that marked the only doubles victory for the Hurricane, as the Fighting Irish claimed triumphs at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to take the point.

After senior Michelle Farley fell at No. 3 singles, Vickers, ranked No. 22 in the nation in singles play, dispatched No. 49 Britney Sanders 7-6 (7-5), 7-5, to put Tulsa on the board. Vickers has now won 11 matches in a row in singles play, and it marked her 9th victory against a ranked opponent this year.

The Fighting Irish increased its lead to 3-1 after TU's Saana Saarteinen fell on Court No. 4, but the Hurricane rallied to take the final three remaining matches.

At No. 6 singles, freshman Renata Kuricova defeated Jule Sabacinski, 6-2, 4-6, 6-1, to cut the deficit to 3-2.

Junior Maria Sant'Anna also earned a hard-fought three set win for the Hurricane to knot the match at three apiece. Sant'Anna defeated Molly O'Koniewski, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4, at No. 5 singles.

Tulsa continues its five-match homestand next weekend, as the Hurricane will host Louisville on Friday, April 5 before Houston comes into town on Sunday, April 7. Start time for Friday's match is set for 4 p.m., while Sunday's match will begin at 11 a.m.
