Tulsa Women's Tennis Drops 4-3 Heartbreaker to No. 46 Arizona

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The 33rd-ranked Tulsa Golden Hurricane women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 heartbreaker to the 46th-ranked Arizona Wildcats in Tucson on Saturday.
Arizona (6-8) won key matches at the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles positions to capture the doubles point, which proved to be the difference in the match. TU's No. 3 duo of junior Bianca Posada and freshman Mariana Barrios pulled out a 9-7 victory over UA's Perrina Pernin and Joanna Bucjkowska for the Hurricane's lone win in doubles.
In singles action, Tulsa (10-5) and Arizona split the six matches. Thus, giving the Wildcats a 4-3 victory.
Sophomores Aleksandra Durska and Marjolein van Dongen each claimed wins at their respective singles spots. Durska won a three-set match over Laresa Marino, 3-6, 6-2, 7-5, at the No. 2 slot, while van Dongen eased by Perrina Pernin, 6-0, 6-3, at the No. 5 position.
Junior Jana Sedivec upset the nation's 79th-ranked singles player. Sedivec won a hardfought, 3-6, 6-4, 7-5, match over Arizona's Michelle Gough.
