TU Women's Tennis Drops Second Straight Match; Falls to Arizona State, 7-0

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The 13th-ranked Arizona State Sun Devils won all three doubles matches and six singles contests en route to a 7-0 victory against 33rd-ranked Tulsa on Sunday at the Whiteman Tennis Center in Tempe, Arizona.
Arizona State (13-3) extended its home win streak to 11 straight matches, while Tulsa (10-6) dropped its second straight contest in as many days.
The Sun Devils began the match with three straight doubles wins to capture the doubles point. ASU, which boasts two doubles teams among the nation's top-50 doubles tandems, earned a pair of 8-5 wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions and an 8-4 victory at the No. 3 spot. Tulsa's 26th-ranked combination of senior Jennifer DeSpain and Jana Sedivec fell to 43rd-ranked Celena McCoury and Mhairi Brown at No.1, while the sophomore duo of Aleksandra Durska and Marjolein van Dongen lost to 23rd-ranked Adria Engel and Karin Palme at the second slot. Junior Bianca Posada and freshman Mariana Barrios dropped their match to Megan Yeats and Cindy Sureephong at the No. 3 doubles position.
In singles action, Arizona State continued to dominate, taking four of the six matches in straight sets. Durska and Palme split their first two sets at the No. 2 position before Durska retired in the third set. At the No. 6 slot, Barrios took Sureephong to three sets before bowing out, 1-6, 6-4, 7-6.
