WACO, Texas - The No. 25-ranked University of Tulsa women's tennis team took down No. 45 Stephen F. Austin 4-0 to move into the NCAA Second Round Friday afternoon at the Hurd Tennis Center.

The Golden Hurricane (23-3) will face No. 13 and host Baylor (24-7) at 2 p.m. May 12 in Waco. The Lady Bears advanced after topping Oral Roberts.

This marks the third-straight season and the fourth time in the last five years that Tulsa has advanced to the second round. TU will be looking to make history, as the team has never reached the Round of 16.

"Today was an extremely difficult, tough match," Tulsa Head Coach Dean Orford said. "Stephen F. Austin is very well coached, and we knew that going in. We struggled but we are happy to be playing Baylor tomorrow."

TU secured the doubles point and picked up three singles wins to sweep the Ladyjacks (23-5).

Junior Michelle Farley and sophomore Maria Sant'Anna opened competition with an 8-4 win over Elena Kordolaimi and Laura Servise on the third doubles court.

The No. 68-ranked senior pair of Anastasia Erofeeva and Ewa Szatkowska clinched the opening point of the match with an 8-4 triumph over Tereza Bekerova and Malena Gordo on the top court.

The match on Court 2 went unfinished with senior Bonny Davidson and sophomore Samantha Vickers holding a 6-5 advantage over Alina Shazhko and Jithmie Jayawickrema.

Freshman Isaura Enrique put Tulsa ahead 2-0 after she defeated Bekerova 6-2, 6-3 on the third singles court. The match marked the first time in Enrique's career she did not play at the fourth position.

No. 49-ranked Erofeeva won 7-5, 6-3 on the top court over Kordolaimi, and Szatkowska pushed TU into the second round after she defeated Shazhko 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 at the second position.

The other three singles matches were all halted after Tulsa clinched the victory. The Golden Hurricane led in third sets in all three matches.
