On the match...
"She's a great player. I watched her last week and I saw her play in the team championships and she was really playing well. She's ready to win this whole thing, and I knew it was going to be tough. Its been a long year, and definitely with her you need to, especially today when its hot out there, you need to be in your best shape to hang in there. It was a good match, she played well really. I'm happy with the way I played. Maybe I could have played a little bit better, but all-in-all it was a good match I think."

On the match . . .
"I played her my sophomore year and I lost 6-2, 6-0. I thought I didn't play really good today. I just knew as I went into the match needing to play good. In the first set when I was up 4-2, I felt like I was slowly pushing the ball. I just didn't take the chance to win the first set. The turning point was when I won the first set 7-6 when she was up 4 and 3. That was really important because we both were fighting. In the second set I was up 5-1. I had a talk with coach and he told me I wasn't following the game plan how I was supposed to. She came back and hit some good shots. When it was 5-4 and I was up 40-love, she hit another good shot to make it 40-30, and the last point I hit really straight and I thought she was going to hit a winner, but she just missed it. That was good feeling."
There were some double-faults today from both players . . .

What did you tell ZZ about her pushing the ball?
"At this stage of the tournament there's not going to be a lot of game plans where pushing the ball on the court is going to win. She got away with it a little bit, but we knew she had to get back to being aggressive and get back to playing the type of game that was going to help her win. Thankfully, she competed really well. By the time I got that changeover at 5-4 up, she was able to make the adjustment and close it out. In the first set, it was the same story. She got up big and Aurelija made a great come back and had set point, and it was déjà vu. She had to get aggressive. Thankfully, ZZ is good enough to stay in there and make the adjustment and pull off that set."
