Women's Tennis Wins Two Matches in Singles Action

Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa women's tennis won two of its four singles matches and lost both doubles matches at the UNLV Invitational at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on the campus of UNLV. The Invitational will feature host UNLV, LSU, Northern Arizona and Tulsa.
In Flight One Singles action, junior Thalia Diaz-Barriga picked one of TU's wins, defeating LSU's Nicole Cantor (2-1 retired), while freshman Alexandra Kichoutkin fell to Katy Williams of UNLV (6-4, 0-6, 6-4).
Junior Marta Marcinkowska picked up TU's other win, beating Edit Suhajda of Northern Arizona (6-2, 5-7, 6-4) in Flight Two action. Also in Flight Two, senior Agostino Santoro fell to LSU's Tiffany Tucker (6-2, 2-6, 6-3).
Both doubles pair fell, the duo of Barriga / Marcinkowska were defeated by Hedberg / Tucker (8-5) in Flight One of doubles, while the pair of Santoro / Kichoutkin lost to UNLV's Williams / Maskalijun (8-0).
Play will continue tomorrow, Saturday, September 29 at 10:00 am in Las Vegas, Nev.
