Junior Samantha Vickers won three matches today to lead the Tulsa women’s tennis squad at the USTA/ITA Central Regional Championship on Saturday, October 20, at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

Vickers, the tournament’s No. 2 seed, powered by Morven McCulloch of Iowa 6-3, 6-4, to move onto the quarterfinals in singles play. She will face Nebraska’s Stefanie Weinstein tomorrow morning.

In doubles play, Vickers teamed up with sophomore Isaura Enrique and defeated two foes today. The Tulsa tandem defeated Rachel Stuhlmann and Madison Rhyner of Missouri 8-5 in the third round before defeating the tournament’s No. 1 doubles duo in OSU’s Malika Rose and Kanyapat Narattana 8-4 in the quarterfinals. Vickers and Enrique will face Whitney Richie and Hermon Brhane tomorrow in the semifinals.
