TULSA, Okla. -

Junior Samantha Vickers and sophomore Isaura Enrique advanced to the finals in doubles play, while Vickers claimed her spot in the singles final winning two matches today at the USTA/ITA Central Region Championship at the Micahel D. Case Tennis Center.

Vickers and Enrique defeated Oklahoma’s Whitney Richie and Hermon Brhane 8-1 to advance to the final. The Tulsa tandem will face Kansas State’s Petra Niedermayerova and Ivana Kubickova tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.

In singles play, Vickers, ranked No. 45 in the nation, cruised by Nebraska’s Stefanie Weinstein 6-0, 6-0 to move onto the semifinals. In the semifinals, Vickers took the first set 6-1 over Missouri’s Cierra Caytan-Leach. In the second frame, Vickers was down 5-4 but stormed back to win the set 7-5 to claim her spot in the finals. Vickers will face Niedermayerova, ranked No. 14 in the country in a match that will begin an hour after Tulsa and Kansas State wrap up their doubles tilt.
