Women's Tennis Earns No. 22 National Ranking

SKILLMAN, N.J. - The University of Tulsa women's tennis team was ranked No. 22 in the nation by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, the organization announced today.
Tulsa boasted a school-best 26-3 record in 2011, which included a trip to the NCAA Second Round.
This is the 11th-straight time the Golden Hurricane has been earned a national ranking inside the top 25.
Vickers won the 2011 USTA/ITA Central Region Championship and has earned a ranking of No. 63. She jumped 26 spots from the preseason after posting a 10-3 record in the fall. Her marquee win came in the Central Region championship match, when she defeated then-No. 65 Sonja Molnar of Iowa.
During the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championship, Vickers lost in a three-set tiebreaker to Joanna Mather of Florida, who is now ranked No. 4 in the nation.
Erofeeva earned a national rank of No. 78, jumping 44 spots from her preseason rank of No. 122. She compiled a 7-3 record in the fall and defeated then-No. 107 Natasha Marks of Arizona in straight sets.
The Golden Hurricane kicks off the 2012 spring campaign at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 15 when the team plays host to Arkansas-Little Rock and Oral Roberts.
