TULSA, Okla. - The University of Tulsa women's tennis team travels to Ann Arbor, Mich., this weekend for the International Tennis Association Kick-off Weekend.

No. 28 Golden Hurricane (2-0) faces No. 36 Yale (0-0) on Saturday at 2 p.m. and either host No. 11 Michigan (0-0) or No. 54 Virginia Tech (2-0). The winner of the four teams advances to the ITA National Indoor Championships from Feb. 7-10 in Charlottesville, Va.

The Hurricane remained ranked at No. 28 after the ITA released its poll on Tuesday after defeating BYU and Oral Roberts 7-0.

Senior Samantha Vickers was named the Conference USA Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week on Monday as she went 2-0 at the No. 1 singles position and 2-0 at the No. 1 doubles position with junior Isaura Enrique.

Along with Vickers, freshman Marcelina Cichon and sophomore Saana Saarteien each recorded a 2-0 mark over the past weekend.

The Golden Hurricane posted a perfect record in singles and doubles going 12-0 in singles and a 5-0 in doubles on Saturday.

With the two singles wins on Saturday, Vickers moved up into a tie for the fourth most in school history with 98 career singles wins. The Lincolnshire, England native also recorded two doubles wins to move up to seventh place in school history with 77 career doubles wins.

Vickers is riding a nine-match winning streak in singles and the Golden Hurricane has seven tennis players who are riding a four-match winning streak or better.

The three freshmen on the team, No. 46 Yelena Nemchen, Marcelina Cichon and Rongrong Leenabanchong, have a combined record of 37-9 (.804) in the 2013-14 season. Nemchen has recorded a 9-2 record, while Cichon has recorded a 13-3 record and Leenabanchong has recorded a 15-4 record.

The Golden Hurricane continues on the road with a match against Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla., at 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31.
