Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Tulsa men's and women's tennis team return to the hardcourts this Sunday against two of the nation's top-50 teams. The 40th-ranked TU men's team will battle 35th-ranked San Diego State at 9:30 a.m. at the Tulsa Southern Tennis Courts, while the 26th-ranked TU women's squad faces 47th-ranked New Mexico at 9:30 a.m. at Southern Hills Tennis Club. Admission to both events is free.

The Hurricane men's team (3-0) returns to action after upsetting #21 Washington, 4-3, this past Friday. San Diego State dropped their season opener to New Mexico State, 4-3, but have since won their last two matches against Nevada (7-0) and UC Riverside (6-1). SDSU finished 17-8 last season and advanced into the round of 16 at the 2000 NCAA Championships.

On the women's side, Tulsa (2-0) faces its first nationally ranked opponent in New Mexico (2-1). TU captured back-to-back victories against Southwest Missouri State (6-1) and Oral Roberts (4-0) to open the 2001 spring season. The Hurricane is off to a 2-0 start for the second time in the last four years. TU also won its first two outings in 1996-97 and 1998-99 seasons.

New Mexico recorded a 7-0 victory over Northern Arizona in its season opener. The Lobos then fell to Mississippi, 6-1, before rebounding with a 4-3 victory against Kansas State. Senior Natalia Alekhova leads the Lobos in singles wins with a 10-5 overall mark.
