TU Plays Final Home Matches at Harwell Courts, Closes Out Home Slate vs. Oregon, Kansas:
Tulsa (11-6) closes the home portion of the 2001 schedule this weekend against the Oregon Ducks (4-13) and the 48th-ranked Kansas Jayhawks (10-8).

On Friday, April 13, Tulsa, which is 5-2 at home this season, hosts Oregon at 12 noon. Last year in Las Vegas, Nev., Tulsa downed the then 43-ranked Ducks, 6-3. Oregon is the third member of the Pac-10 Conference Tulsa has faced this season.

The Hurricane plays its final regular season home match against Central Region rival and 48th-ranked Kansas at 12 noon on Saturday, April 14. The match also marks the final contest for the Hurricane at the Harwell Tennis Courts. Next season, Tulsa will play its home matches at the new state-of-the-art Michael D. Case Tennis Center, wich is expected to open in Sept. 2001. Last season, the Hurricane posted a 5-2 victory over KU at the Kansas Invitational in Lawrence.

Hurricane Routes Arkansas-Little Rock:
Tulsa's 45th-ranked women's tennis team captured four singles matches and the doubles point to rout the Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans, 5-2. TU sophomore Aleksandra Durska (Pobiedziska, Poland), senior Jennifer DeSpain (Edmond, Okla.), freshman Mariana Barrios (Katy, Texas) and junior Bianca Posada (Morela, Mexico) each won singles their respective singles matches and Tulsa wrapped up the match with a sweep in doubles.

DeSpain to Play Final Home Match This Weekend:
Tulsa senior Jennifer DeSpain will will play at the Harwell Tennis courts for the final time in a Tulsa uniform when the Hurricane takes the court this Saturday against Kansas. DeSpain, the school's all-time winningest singles player with a career singles record of 87-43 (.670) and a doubles mark of 73-44 (.624), has led Tulsa to a four-year overall record of 56-34 (.622). DeSpain, a two-time Western Athletic Conference doubles team seelction, is a three-time member of the all-WAC Academic team and was a GTE Academic all-District VI second-team performer a year ago.

Durska Moves Into Fourth-Place Among TU's Single-Season Leaders:
Sophomore sensation Aleksandra Durska recorded her 25th win of the season with a 6-1, 6-1, victory over UALR's Layla Tohme. With 25 victories this season, she is tied with Jennifer DeSpain for fourth-place among Tulsa's single-season leaders. She needs three more victories to tie her career single-season mark of 28 wins she recorded last season.

Her 25 wins this season, coupled with the 28 from last season, gives her 53 career victories and moves her into sixth-place among the Hurricane's all-time leaders. Durska is now just four wins shy of catching former Hurricane Tarryn Martin's (1994-98) fifth-place mark of 57.

DeSpain Wins 20th Singles Match For Fourth Straight Season:
With her 6-1, 6-1 victory over Arkansas-Little Rock's Alejandra Lopez, Jennifer DeSpain reached the 20-win plateau for the fourth straight season. Last season, DeSpain became the first TU player to record 20 or more victories in three straight seasons. She has a singles mark of 20-9 this season. The past three seasons, she recorded 22, 20, and 25 wins, respectively.
