Tulsa, Okla. - The 38th-ranked Tulsa women's tennis team is looking to win its third consecutive conference title this weekend at the Conference USA Women's Tennis Championship at Rice University in Houston, Texas. The Golden Hurricane enters as the No. 2 seed and will play seventh-seeded UCF at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17, after earning a first-round bye on Thursday.

UCF defeated 10th-seeded Tulane, 4-0, in the first round to improve their record to 12-9 on the season.

Tulsa enters the tournament with 21-4 overall record and a 3-0 mark against C-USA opponents. They are led by a trio of 20-match winners in sophomore Alexandra Kichoutkin, senior Thalia Diaz-Barriga and freshman Anastasia Erofeeva.

Alexandra Kichoutkin owns a 24-9 singles record, including an 18-5 mark in the No. 1 position during the duel season. Thalia Diaz-Barriga has also had a solid senior season with a 22-11 singles record, including a 19-5 record this duel season. Anastasia Erofeeva has posted the most singles wins on the team with a 28-5 record, including a 20-3 mark during the duel campaign.

The 2009 C-USA Women's Tennis Championship runs from Thursday, April 16, through Sunday, April 19, with the champion receiving the conference's automatic bid to the 2009 NCAA Championships.
