TULSA, Okla. -

The University of Tulsa men’s and women’s tennis squads will find out their fate in the 2013 NCAA Tennis Championships on April 30, in a selection show that will air live on NCAA.com.

The men’s selection announcement will begin at 4 p.m. followed by the women’s announcement at 4:30 p.m.

The men’s squad checked in at No. 25 in last week’s ITA rankings after earning a 15-7 record this year. TU boasts two top-50 singles players in the nation in No. 42 Japie De Klerk and No. 49 Clifford Marsland. Tulsa faced one of the toughest schedules in the nation this year, with 19 of its 22 matches coming against ranked opponents. The Hurricane finished runner-up in the 2013 Conference USA Men’s Tennis Championship

The women’s team was ranked No. 24 last weekend after falling in the C-USA Women’s Tennis Championship to No. 20 Rice. The Golden Hurricane is led by C-USA Player of the Year Samantha Vickers, who enters the championship riding a 17-match winning streak and is ranked No. 17 nationally. Vickers and Isaura Enrique were named to the All C-USA First-Team in doubles after attaining a 33-4 record this season.

Complete team brackets – including regional round sites – will be posted on the official NCAA website after the completion of the show. The fields for the individual singles and doubles portion of the tournament will be announced the following day, on Wed., May 1.

First and second round regional action will be played May 10-12 at 16 campus sites. The later rounds as well as the individual singles and doubles tournament are set for May 16-27, to be hosted at the University of Illinois’ Khan Outdoor Tennis Complex at the Atkins Tennis Center for the first time in history.
