TULSA, Okla. - Former Baylor All-American women's tennis player Lenka Broosova was named assistant women's tennis coach at the University of Tulsa, it was announced today by Head Women's Tennis Coach Dean Orford.

"We're excited to have Lenka join the staff," Orford said. "She had a phenomenal college career at Baylor and had success internationally. She'll be a great addition to the team."

Broosova has been volunteering with high school youth group "Hi-League" in Wheaton, Illinois for the last two years.

Broosova was a four-year letterwinner at the Baylor University from 2007-10, where she was the 2010 Big 12 Women's Tennis Player of the Year. During her four seasons, she posted an overall 154-28 (.846) singles record and a 103-36 (.741) doubles mark.

"I've been looking to get into college coaching for some time and when coach Orford gave me this chance, it was a no-brainer," Broosova said. "I played here in 2008 in the NCAA Tournament and I fell in love with this campus. I loved playing here."

She earned four-time All-Big 12 Singles and Doubles honors and was a two-time NCAA Singles All-American in 2008 and 2010 and a three-time NCAA Doubles All-American from 2008-10. Brossova advanced to the NCAA Singles Championship Elite Eight in 2009 and 2010 and advanced to the NCAA Doubles Championship Final Four in 2009.

The Banska Bystrica, Slovakia native was named the International Tennis Association Southwest Region Rookie of the Year in 2007 as she posted a 37-8 singles and a 25-11 doubles records in her freshman season.

During Broosova's playing career, the Bears won the Big 12 Championship in each year. Baylor advanced to the final four in 2009, as well as the Elite Eight in 2008 and 2010 and to the Sweet Sixteen in 2007. She also led the team to the first No. 1 ranking in Baylor tennis history in 2010.

Broosova served as director of tennis operations at Baylor from 2010-11. She then played professional tennis from 2011-12, where she won tournaments in Bolivia and Columbia.
