Women's Tennis starts the fall campaign at the Midland Invitational

TULSA, Okla. - The University of Tulsa women's tennis is taking five players to the Midland Invitational in Midland, Texas.
"It's the first event of the fall," TU head coach Dean Orford said. "We are really keened to see where our players are at this time of the year."
Vickers and Enrique finished the 2013 tennis season ranked as the 14th best doubles in the ITA rankings.
Vickers finished 22nd in the final ITA rankings in singles last season. She is ranked 15th in the ITA preseason ranking this season, TU's highest preseason ranking since Anousjka van Exel was ranked 14th in the preseason poll in 1998.
Enrique is ranked 122nd in this season's preseason poll in singles.
Vickers and Enrique received a top-10 seed in the tournament. Vickers is No. 1, while Enrique is No. 10.
Two freshmen plays in their first collegiate match - Marcelina Cichon and Dobby Leenabanchong.
"The freshmen are going to get a bunch of matches and get exposed to college athletics," Orford said. "The competition is strong and for our freshmen, they are jumping in the deep end."
After the Midland Invitational, TU players will either participate in the 10K Hilton Head in Hilton Head, S.C. from Sept. 27-30 or in the ITA All-American Championships Pacific Palisades, Calif., from Sept. 28-Oct. 6.
