Women's Tennis Team Begins 2007 Fall Campaign with the Hurricane Invitational

Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa women's tennis team will start off the 2007 fall season September 21-23, when it hosts the Hurricane Invitational at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the TU campus.
The Invitational will feature Tulsa, Arkansas, Oklahoma State and Kansas State.
The defending Conference USA Champion, Tulsa returns seven letterwinners from last season, including third team all-C-USA performer Carla Zabaleta. TU ended the 2006-07 season ranked 44th nationally and Head Coach Dean Orford was named Conference USA Coach of the Year.
Last spring, Tulsa swept the three teams making the trip to the Hurricane Invitational. TU defeated # 47 Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark. 4-3 on Jan. 28, 2007. Tulsa also won in Manhattan, Kan. against Kansas State 5-2 on March 10, 2007. Lastly, Tulsa defeated # 48 Oklahoma State 5-2 on March 24, 2007.
Arkansas enters the fall, with two individuals ranked, Ela Kaluder # 25 and Aurelija Miseviciute # 119 and two doubles pairs ranked, Aryori Franco/Nanar Airpetian and Ela Kaluder/Aurelija Miseviciute # 57.
