Volunteer Assistant Coach

Former Golden Hurricane volleyball player Courtney (Little) Berg returned to The University of Tulsa as a member of the volleyball coaching staff in 2004. Berg played at TU for two seasons in 1998 and 1999. She also served as a student assistant coach during the 2000 season. This season she will serve as a volunteer assistant coach for the Golden Hurricane.

As a player, Berg was named to the WAC all-academic team both seasons. As a freshman, she shared the setting duties, finishing second on the squad in assists with 468 and second in digs with 224. Her sophomore season was marred by injuries, leading to her beginning her coaching career.

In addition to her time as a student assistant coach with the Golden Hurricane, Berg has served as the head coach for the Bartlesville Eclipse. In 2003, she assisted the Bartlesville High School squad as a volunteer coach. Before moving to Bartlesville, Berg taught private lessons in Tulsa. She also served as a coach with the Hurricane Juniors Volleyball Club for two years.

A native of Jenks, Okla., and graduate of Jenks High School, Berg was a two-time Oklahoma Volleyball Player of the Year selection.

She has also served as a counselor at the Kanakuk Kamps for the past three summers.

Berg earned her bachelor's degree in marketing from TU in 2002, graduating with Magna Cum Laude honors. She also earned a Certificate of Youth Ministry and Family Relations from The Kanakuk Institute in 2003.

She and her husband, Jeff, reside in Tulsa.
