Since the opening of the Donald W. Reynolds Center in 1998, Tulsa’s athletic facilities have undergone a major facelift. New facilities include the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, the Collins Family Softball Complex, the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium, the J. Bird Sr. Shell Nest, the Jack Zink Indoor Rowing Center, the Case Athletic Complex and major renovation to H.A. Chapman Stadium.
TU is 75th among national doctoral universities in U. S. News & World Report's 2012 edition of America's Best Colleges. TU's 2011 freshman class had a mean cumulative grade point average of 3.8, and 74 percent graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school classes. Their average ACT was 28.

Sophomore (2011): Following a redshirt year in 2010, she totaled 120 kills (0.98 k/s), a .295 attack percentage, 74 blocks (0.61 blk/s) and 165.5 total points (1.35 pts/s) ... hit above .250 in 17 matches, including six times in November and December ... tallied 4.0 or more blocks eight times ... recorded five blocks vs. Cal Poly (9/9) and at Middle Tennessee State (9/10) ... tallied 10 kills with no errors and hit .714 vs. No. 4 Illinois (9/10) ... blocked six attacks at UCF (9/25) ... tallied eight kills, 6.0 blocks and hit .700 vs. Southern Miss (10/8) ... hit .636 with seven kills at East Carolina (10/23) ... had eight kills and 4.0 blocks vs. Memphis (10/28) ... tallied seven kills and a pair of blocks and hit .417 in the NCAA Tournament at No. 1 USC (12/3).
Prior to Tulsa:Lettered one year at The University of Texas at Brownsville ... helped lead her team to the Red River Athletic Conference Championship and to the quarterfinals of the NAIA National Volleyball Championship ... played in 14 matches and 27 sets, ranked second on the team with a .417 attack percentage, totaled 39 kills (1.44 kills per set), tallied 11 service aces, 14 digs and eight total blocks.
High School:Played three years at Colegio Positivo and helped lead her team to three consecutive (2006, 2007 and 2008) state and regional championships in Brazil.
Personal:Born Miriele Cristina Gobbo on January 4, 1992 in Curitiba, Brazil ... daughter of Carlos and Soraya Mary Gobbo ... has one sister ... biggest sports thrill was winning the regional championship in Brazil as a high school senior ... favorite professional volleyball player is Giba ... favorite movie is The Notebook and her favorite TV show is "Jersey Shore" ... major is exercise sport science.
