JJ Jones joins the Tulsa volleyball staff in 2011 after spending two years as an assistant coach at Lamar University.

In addition to on-court coaching at Lamar, her duties included organizing and planning practice and travel as well as recruiting and overseeing the strength and conditioning program. At Tulsa, her responsibilities will include recruiting, as well as on-court coaching, including the setters.

Jones was a standout volleyball player at Stephen F. Austin and is the program's all-time assists leader with 5,191 career assists. She was named the Southland Conference Setter of the Year in 2005 and 2006, as she led the Ladyjacks to four straight Southland Conference Championships from 2004-07. She was an All-SLC first team selection three times, and as a senior ranked 24th in the nation with a 13.15 assists-per-set average.

A native of Allen, Texas, Jones graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2008 with a degree in Health Science and a minor in nutrition.
