Former three-year letterwinner Patricia Marques rejoined the Golden Hurricane volleyball team as an assistant coach on July 26, 2005.
A native of Rio de Janerio, Brazil, Marques played in 78 career matches for the Hurricane, including 46 starts. She also played in 244 games during her career.
One of the better passers on the squad, she posted 28 double-digit dig performances in her career. She recorded 586 career digs in three seasons for the Hurricane, an average of 2.40 per game. As a senior, she recorded a career-best 28 digs against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, the fourth best single-match performance in TU history.
Before coming to Tulsa as a student-athlete, Marques played one year at Universidade Candio Mendes. She served as the team captain of Club Flamengo, helping lead her club squad to four consecutive Torneio Incio (Juvenil) Championships. She was also selected to play beach volleyball for Letcia Pessoa, coached by five-time World of Beach Volley Champions Adriana Behar and Sheldás.
Marques graduated from TU in May of 2005 with a degree in political science.During his senior year, he received the UNM Alumni Association Citizenship Award and was a nominee for the Clauve Outstanding Senior Award.
