Ronaldo Pacheco is in his second season as an assistant coach at the University of Tulsa.
Pacheco, a former professional volleyball player in Brazil and Argentina, joined the Tulsa coaching staff before the 2012 season. He helped lead Tulsa to a 26-10 record, C-USA regular season and post-season championships and an NCAA Championship appearance. He is involved in planning practice, scouting, recruiting and conducting camps for the Hurricane. Pacheco also served as a student manager for the team from 2009-12.
Pacheco has a wealth of coaching experience at many different levels both in the United States and in Brazil. He served as the head coach for the Club Jundiai men's volleyball squad in 2005, the Melhoramentos men's volleyball team along with the Club Melhoramentos women's junior volleyball squad in 2002. Pacheco also served as an assistant coach on the Brazilian women's national team from 2004-07 and aided Brazil to a fourth-place finish at the 2004 Olympics in Athens. In 2007, he also observed the Miami University (Ohio) volleyball club and was a volunteer assistant volleyball coach for Talawanda High School.
Before coaching, Pacheco played professional volleyball from 1983 to 2001 for ten different teams in Brazil and Argentina including S.E. Palmerias, the 1994 Brazilian Superliga runner-up. Pacheco also was a member of the Brazilian National Team, which captured a gold medal at the 1988 South America Junior Championship.
Pacheco, a native of Campinas, Brazil, graduated from the University of Tulsa in 2012 with a degree in psychology.
