Position:
Assistant Coach

Evyn Wills begins her first season as a member of The University of Tulsa coaching staff.

Wills makes the transition from player to coach after being a four-year letterwinner for the Golden Hurricane. Used mostly as a libero during her collegiate career, Wills will be responsible for the defensive specialists this season, in addition to her administrative duties.

While earning second-team All-Conference USA honors as a senior, Wills became the first player in TU history to post over 500 digs in a single season with 531. She also set a school record with 1,590 digs during her playing career. To complete the triple-crown, her 38 digs against UTEP on Oct. 14, 2005 set a single match record for the Hurricane.

As a senior, Wills ranked third in C-USA in total digs and fifth in digs per game with a 4.83 average while helping lead TU to back-to-back winning season for the first time in 26 years. At the time, Tulsa's 23 overall victories were the most for the Hurricane in 25 seasons. TU's 10 conference wins were also the most in school history.

A four-year all-state selection at Wright Christian Academy, Wills helped lead her prep team to a runner-up finish at the Oklahoma Christian Schools Athletic Association's state championship as a senior in high school. She led the Wildcats to three consecutive OCSAA state titles in 1998, 1999 and 2000. Wills was also a starter on the state champions basketball team all four seasons at Wright Christian.

Wills, a 2007 TU graduate with a bachelor's degree in management is married to Ryan Wills, also at TU graduate.
