LAWRENCE, Kan. - Led by senior Tyler Henderson's 22 kills, the Tulsa volleyball squad swept Nebraska Omaha 25-18, 25-15, 25-23 to finish 2-1 at the Kansas Invitational on Saturday.

The Golden Hurricane (4-3) as a squad hit .280 (51-16-125) while holding the Mavericks to a .160 clip (31-14-106).

Henderson also hit .514 during the match. Junior outside hitter Kellie Culbertson collected a double-double with 10 digs and 10 kills, while senior libero Jessica Adams collected 23 digs. Senior setter Jordan Clampitt added a game-high 36 assists and tallied four kills on eight attempts.

Adams and Henderson were named to the Kansas Invitational All-Tournament team, which marks the second time in as many weeks they have earned spots on all-tournament squads.

"I thought we had a solid team effort today," commented Head Coach Steven McRoberts. "Tyler continued her high level of play. She has definitely been our go-to player the first two weeks. Jessica also had another good weekend with her defense and Jordan stepped up and did a great job on short notice to set the 5-1. We continue to search for more consistency as a team and this weekend a lot of players saw time on the court."

In the first set, TU hit .353 with 16 kills to win the set 25-18. Junior middle blocker Miriele Gobbo had four of her six kills in the initial frame.

Tulsa took the second set 25-15 as TU hit .256 and held Nebraska Omaha to a .091 attack percentage.

Henderson took over the third set and had 11 kills and hit .588 while Adams had 10 of her 23 digs in the final frame for the Hurricane.

The Hurricane will return to Tulsa for a road game against intercity rival Oral Roberts on Tuesday, September 4 at 7 p.m. A free shuttle bus for TU students will depart from in front of the 8th Street entrance of the Reynolds Center at 6 p.m.

"We are glad to be back in Tulsa playing and we hope that our fans will travel across town on Tuesday to watch us play a good Oral Roberts team," McRoberts stated.
