Tulsa Volleyball Drops 3-1 Decision to Creighton
GREELEY, Colo. - he Tulsa volleyball squad dropped a 3-1 decision to Creighton (19-25, 25-21, 27-29, 21-25) Saturday in the Northern Colorado Classic to end the Golden Hurricane's three-game winning streak. The Hurricane (6-4) was led by senior outside hitter Tyler Henderson, who tallied a game-high 25 kills. Junior outside hitter Kellie Culbertson added 12 kills and 15 digs to collect her seventh double-double of the year. Sophomore setter Bailey Clampitt set a career high with 52 assists and recorded 11 digs to earn her first double-double in her Tulsa career. Senior libero Jessica Adams had 19 digs to lead TU, while senior outside hitter Diana Silva snared 16 digs and 8 kills. As a squad, Tulsa hit .162, while Creighton (7-1) had an attack percentage of .193. The The Bluejays out blocked the Hurricane 21-10 and recorded 76 digs compared to TU's 74. Creighton never trailed in the first frame en route to a 25-19 set victory. The Bluejays hit .303 in the set while the Hurricane hit .152. The second set Tulsa hit .256 and held Creighton to a .154 attack clip as TU won the set 25-21. The third set saw 16 ties and eight lead changes, as Tulsa had a set point opportunity after a Henderson service ace to make the score 25-24. TU again had a set point chance after a block by Culbertson, but Creighton scored three straight point to win the third frame 29-27. The fourth set saw eight ties and five lead changes, but the Bluejays won the frame 25-21 as the Hurricane hit .087.
