TULSA, Okla. - Diana Silva tallied a double-double with 11 kills and 16 digs and Tyler Henderson slammed 14 kills to lead The Tulsa volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-13) sweep of Marshall Thursday evening at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

Henderson hit .609 with zero errors in the match to pace the Golden Hurricane (18-5, 9-1 C-USA). Jessica Adams also recorded 16 digs, while Bailey Clampitt and Jordan Clampitt added 21 and 20 digs, respectively. Desirre Wilkerson led the Thundering Herd (4-16, 3-7 C-USA) with nine kills.

Kellie Culbertson contributed seven kills and eight digs, and Carly Boatwright had five kills and three blocks for the Hurricane.

"I thought we played pretty consistently," Tulsa Head Coach Steven McRoberts said. "One of our goals for this match was to hit over .300, and we hit over .350. We had a really balanced attack tonight. Tyler just had a great match - 14 kills, no errors, hit over .600. Of course when she's playing like that, it really makes our other hitters better. It really lifts the team up when she plays like that. Bailey and Jordan were really a big reason why we had such a high percentage hitting. They did a really good job of setting the ball. When we're balanced offensively like that, it just makes us tougher.

"Then on top of that, Diana had a double-double with kills and digs, and Kellie Culbertson hit almost .300 with seven kills and eight digs. Then you throw in Jess Adams, who had another night with over five digs a set with 16 digs. When we as a team can play low-error, and have everybody contribute like we did tonight, we play pretty well."

Tulsa hit .353 as a team (47-11-102) with 47 kills, 44 assists, two service aces, 54 digs and 5.0 blocks. Marshall hit .084 (29-20-107) with 29 kills, 29 assists, three aces, 40 digs and 2.0 blocks.

Tulsa converted 73 percent of its sideout opportunities in the opening set, holding Marshall to a .051 attack percentage. The Hurricane hit .281, and was led by Silva's five kills. Bailey Clampitt put up eight assists, and Silva and Adams added six and five digs, respectively. TU used an 8-1 run to break away from a 10-10 tie to take a 19-12 lead, coasting to the set win.

The Golden Hurricane hit .333 in set two, and was led by Henderson, who hit .583 in the frame with seven kills. Jordan Clampitt contributed seven assists, while Silva added seven digs and Adams added six digs. TU held a 17-15 lead, and closed the set with a 8-3 run.

Henderson hit .714 with five kills in the third set, as Tulsa hit .412 as a team in the frame. Adams and Culbertson each tallied five digs, and Jordan Clampitt led TU with seven assists. The Hurricane converted 76 percent of its sideout opportunities and held the Thundering Herd to a .059 attack percentage.

The Golden Hurricane hits the road to complete the weekend at East Carolina Sunday at 1 p.m. Live stats and live video of the match will be available on www.TulsaHurricane.com.
