TULSA, Okla. - Tyler Henderson tallied 18 kills and four players recorded at least 14 digs to lead Tulsa to a sweep of UAB (25-23, 25-17, 25-16) Sunday afternoon at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

The Golden Hurricane (18-8, 11-1 C-USA) won its fifth straight match to strengthen its lead in the C-USA standings, and also stopped the Blazers' nine-match winning streak.

Jessica Adams led Tulsa with 17 digs. Diana Silva and Jordan Clampitt each tallied16 digs, and Kellie Culbertson has 14 digs for TU, which totaled 77 digs in the match.

Jordan Clampitt picked up her 10th double-double of the season with 21 assists, while Bailey Clampitt added 13 assists. Culbertson and Silva each recorded eight kills for the Hurricane.

TU hit .191 (44-18-136) with 40 assists, and 5.0 blocks. The Hurricane defense held UAB (16-12, 8-4 C-USA) to just .102 hitting (30-17-128) with 28 assists, 71 digs and 8.0 blocks.

Henderson and Adams picked up seven kills and seven digs, respectively, in the opening set. Jordan Clampitt added six digs with nine assists to lead the Hurricane to 18 kills in the stanza. TU jumped out to a 7-1 lead off the bat. UAB, however, came back and erased a 12-3 deficit when it tied the score at 19-19. The Blazers moved ahead, 23-21, but the Hurricane scored the final four points to claim the set, 25-23.

The TU defense forced the Blazers into nine hitting errors and allowed just nine kills in the second set, as the Blazers hit a .000 percentage. Henderson tallied four kills and Paige Panfil picked up all three of her kills in the second frame. Adams and Culbertson each tallied five digs. With a two-point lead at 19-17, TU scored the final six points of the set to win, 25-17.

Tulsa converted 81 percent of its sideout opportunities in the third set, and never allowed the Blazers to score more than two points in a row. Henderson put up seven kills and Silva had 10 digs in the set.

The Golden Hurricane returns to action next weekend when it travels to play at Tulane on Thursday at 7 p.m., and at UTEP on Sunday at 1 p.m.
