Recap |  Box Score

On the overall match "Rice has a very good team. I felt like we did a great job defensively against them and I am very proud. It was a full team effort. We had a lot of players step up and do their part. I'm just very excited for this to be our third regular season championship in a row, and we secured the number one seed in the conference tournament. I'm very proud of the fact these seniors are leaving with three rings from The University of Tulsa."

On winning three in a row "Not too many teams have won three in a row. It puts them in an elite group. I told the seniors after the match they are leaving a legacy. Our juniors will have a chance to win the fourth one next year. It is a small percentage of student-athletes that leave college with three rings, three championships. (It is impressive) especially in the past two years when there have been so many expectations put on this program. They rose to the challenge and won two more after their excellent 2010 season."

On who led the Golden Hurricane in the match "It was a team effort. Jessica Adams had 26 digs and made some huge plays for us on the defensive end. I thought Kellie and Diana had an overall great match, not only with getting double-digit kills, but doing a great job on their floor defense. They did a great job serving and getting touches at the net. Tyler Henderson carried us early. She had 10 or 12 kills after two sets. Rice's defense put a premium on her after that, and it allowed a lot of our other hitters to get hot. Ashley Hooper came in and had six blocks in sets three and four, which helped us set the defensive tone."

On preparing for Sunday "We have to get over this pretty fast. We talked about celebrating this tonight, but coming to practice tomorrow to get ready for Houston. No one wants to go into the tournament with a loss. I think it will help us gain a little bit more momentum if we can come out and play this way on our home floor on Sunday, knowing that next week on Friday and hopefully Saturday and Sunday that we are playing on this floor for another tournament championship."

On winning the Conference USA regular season title "It feels awesome. That was definitely a goal coming into my senior year, and I know Jordan, Diana, Shelbi and Tyler all had the same goal. It was really special. I felt like we played a really good game tonight. We are going to use this win to win on Sunday too."

On the significance of winning three straight C-USA regular season championships "It is special. It really is. We wanted to go out with a bang, and we wanted everyone to know who we are. We wanted to leave a legacy at Tulsa and in the conference. It is a special thing for us. This will be something that I look back, and it will be some great memories for whenever I'm older."
