Reno, Nev. - The University of Tulsa volleyball squad ended its Western Athletic Conference season on Friday night with a WAC Tournament loss to defending champion Hawai`i, 3-0 (30-17, 30-12, 34-32). It was the first time Tulsa had lost in the first round of the WAC Tournament.

First-team All-WAC member Lily Kahumoku led all hitters with 19 kills for UH, while fellow first-team Lauren Duggins and WAC Player of the Year Kim Willoughby added 13 and 14 kills, respectively. WAC Freshman of the Year Kanoe Kamana`o posted 40 assists, in addition to Kahumoku's match-high 14 digs.

Freshman Amy Meyer only played in one game for the Hurricane, but she made the most of her time. The Buda, Texas, native posted eight kills to go along with seven digs and a block in only one game against the nation's No. 2-ranked team. Junior Vanessa Thon and sophomore Evyn Bandy tag-teamed the setting duties for a total of 30 assists. Senior Nathalia Araujo contributed a team-best nine digs.

Tulsa will conclude the 2003 campaign with a post-Thanksgiving match at Arkansas on Nov. 28 at 7 p.m., in Fayetteville, Ark.
