TULSA, Okla. - The Tulsa volleyball team took down North Dakota State 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-21) on Friday, November 23, 2012 at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

The Golden Hurricane (26-9) hit .274 (44-12-117) while holding the Bison (12-18) to a .187 clip (40-17-123). Tulsa out-dug NDSU 58-53, while the Golden Hurricane out-blocked the Bison 8-5. This marked TU's seventh victory in a row, and Tulsa has won 20 sets in a row after dropping the second set in a 3-1 win over Rice on November 9.

Senior outside hitter Tyler Henderson led the TU offense with 16 kills and hit .400 on the match. Henderson also chipped in four digs and three blocks.

 

 

Fellow senior outside hitter Diana Silva hit .346 while collecting her 11th double-double of the year with 10 kills and 10 digs. Silva tied a season high with three service aces.

Senior libero Jessica Adams paced the TU defense with 17 digs, while junior outside hitter Kellie Culbertson added 13 digs and six kills.

Senior setter Jordan Clampitt tallied 23 assists, while sophomore Bailey Clampitt chipped in 13 dimes.

In the first set, Tulsa jumped out to a 13-3 lead as six different players collected kills for TU. The Hurricane took home the first set 25-16 as TU forced NDSU to hit .106 in the set. Silva had six of her 10 kills in the set, while Adams tallied nine digs in the frame.

Tulsa was down 10-8 in the second set before scoring seven of the next eight points to claim a 15-11 advantage. Tulsa took the stanza 25-20 as Henderson had seven of TU's 14 kills in the game.

The third set saw five ties and three lead changes, with the final tie occurring at nine apiece. Carly Boatwright's service ace gave TU a lead it would never give up as TU took the set 25-21. The Hurricane out-blocked the Bison 4-0 in the set and hit .333. Henderson tallied six kills and hit .750 in the set, while freshman Maura McGivern tallied four kills and hit .500.

Tulsa will find out its fate in the NCAA Tournament on Sunday, November 25 at 3 p.m. during the NCAA Tournament Selection Show on ESPNU.
