OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss announced Thursday the hiring of Tulsa's volleyball head coach Steven McRoberts to become its seventh volleyball head coach.

"I want to thank Crista Troester for having faith in me three years ago to head the TU volleyball program," McRoberts said. "Although, I am excited about my opportunity at Ole Miss, it's a bittersweet move for my family as we have met a lot of great people here that we are sad to say goodbye to.

"I have had the privilege to coach a lot of tremendous young ladies. I know that TU volleyball will be very successful as it moves forward into the American Athletic Conference and I wish them all the best."

In three seasons as the Tulsa's volleyball head coach, McRoberts posted a 78-24 record and led TU to two Conference USA Championships in 2011 and 2012 and two berths to the NCAA Tournament in 2010 and 2011.

During the 2013 season, McRoberts led TU to a 24-7 overall record and a 12-2 conference record. The Golden Hurricane had nine C-USA Players of the Week, including a conference record seven different players to win the weekly award in one season.

McRoberts led TU to a 26-10 record and won C-USA regular season and tournament championship in 2012 and a 28-7 record and C-USA Championship in 2011.

During his time at Tulsa, McRoberts has coached four players that earned All-America honors and six players that were All-C-USA selections, including Henderson, who won Player of the Year in 2011 and 2012 and Jessica Adams, who was honored as Libero of the Year in 2011 and 2012. Tulsa's other all-league players under McRoberts were Brooke Berryhill, Erica Bohannon, Kellie Culbertson and Diana Silva.

McRoberts has posted a record of 475-164 in 17 seasons as a head coach and has posted 20-plus wins 16 times.

The university will conduct a national search to find a new head volleyball coach. For all Tulsa volleyball news and information, visit www.TulsaHurricane.com.
