TULSA,Okla. - The University of Tulsa volleyball team opens its home campaign on Tuesday at 7 p.m. against cross-town rival Oral Roberts in the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

Tulsa looks to continue its two-match winning streak after defeating Missouri State 3-0 (27-25, 25-19, 29-27) and Northeastern 3-2 (25-18, 22-25, 25-18, 14-25, 15-9) on Saturday at the Dayton Invitational in Dayton, Ohio.

Leading the way for the Golden Hurricane (2-1) is senior outside hitter Kellie Culbertson, who recorded three double-doubles last weekend. Culbertson was named to the All-Tournament team with 37 kills, eight service aces and 43 digs.

The Long Beach, Calif., native recorded 11 kills and 14 digs against No. 22 Dayton, 12 kills and 10 digs against Missouri State and 14 kills and 19 digs against Northeastern.

Junior Valerie El Houssine was also named to the All-Tournament Team and recorded two double-doubles. She totaled 37 kills and a team-high 48 digs.

El Houssine had a double-double against Dayton when she led the Hurricane with 15 kills and a match-high 21 digs. The Eghezee, Belgium native followed up with another double-double with 12 kills and 18 digs against Missouri State and just missed a double-double with 10 kills and nine digs against Northeastern.

Before the two-match winning streak, TU started the season with a loss in its season opener to host Dayton 3-1 (23-25, 24-26, 25-21, 21-25). TU had won the last five season openers before the loss to the Flyers.

Oral Roberts lead the series 57-17 over TU, but the Hurricane has won the last five meetings, including a 3-2 win last season at Oral Roberts.

The Golden Eagles (3-0) swept through the TSU Invitational last weekend winning each match 3-0.

Oral Roberts are led by Sara Pope, TSU Invitational MVP, with 37 kills, Laura Taylor with 73 assists and Bruna Silva with 24 digs.

The Golden Hurricane heads back on the road to play in the Baylor Classic this weekend in Waco, Texas. TU faces host Baylor on Friday at 7 p.m. followed by Mississippi State at 10 a.m. and then Texas-Arlington at 4:30 p.m.
