TULSA, Okla. - The University of Tulsa volleyball squad, after a second-place finish at the Kansas Invitational, will face cross-town rival Oral Roberts on Tuesday, September 4 at 7 p.m. at Kenneth H. Cooper Aerobics Center on the campus of ORU.

A free shuttle for TU students will be provided by the athletic department, which will depart from in front of the 8th Street entrance of the Reynolds Center at 6 p.m.

Tulsa is coming off of a 2-1 record at the Kansas Invitational this past weekend. The Golden Hurricane defeated Arkansas State (25-15, 26-24, 27-25) and Nebraska Omaha (25-18, 25-15, 25-23) in straight sets, and fell to host Kansas (25-20, 23-25, 25-16, 27-25) in four sets. During the two-day tournament, senior outside hitter Tyler Henderson hit .374 with 49 kills, while senior libero Jessica Adams tallied 57 digs and four service aces, and both were named to the all-tournament team. This marks the second time in as many weeks the duo has been honored with all-tournament team accolades.

The Hurricane is led by Henderson, who on the season has 136 kills and a .350 attack percentage. Junior outside hitter Kellie Culbertson is second on the team with 3.17 kills per set, is third in digs with 3.42 per frame and leads the squad in aces with 12. Senior outside hitter Diana Silva is second on the squad with 3.42 digs per set and third in kills with 2.58. Adams leads TU with 130 digs this season and is second on the team with service aces with eight. Senior setter Jordan Clampitt is the team leader in assists with 9.0 per set.

As a squad, Tulsa is hitting .225 and has collected 275 kills on the campaign, while opponents are hitting .206 with 278 kills. TU averages 14.46 assists and 17.33 digs per set.

TU trails in the series with ORU 16-57, but the Hurricane has won three straight in the series, including a sweep in 2010 which marks the last meeting between the two squads.

Oral Roberts is 4-3 after a 2-2 performance at The University Plaza Invitational hosted by Missouri State. ORU lost to past TU opponent Missouri State and was swept by future TU opponent Dayton. Tatum Fredeen leads ORU with 87 kills while Sheina Fernandes is second with 76. The libero for the Golden Eagles is Bruna Silva, the sister of Tulsa outside hitter Diana Silva.

Tulsa has a quick turnaround as it will will compete in the Northern Colorado Tournament this weekend with matches against Northern Colorado, Creighton and Ball State.
