Since the opening of the Donald W. Reynolds Center in 1998, Tulsa�s athletic facilities have undergone a major facelift. New facilities include the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, the Collins Family Softball Complex, the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium, the J. Bird Sr. Shell Nest, the Jack Zink Indoor Rowing Center, the Case Athletic Complex and major renovation to H.A. Chapman Stadium.

TU is 75th among national doctoral universities in U. S. News & World Report's 2012 edition of America's Best Colleges. TU's 2011 freshman class had a mean cumulative grade point average of 3.8, and 74 percent graduated in the top 10 percent of their high school classes. Their average ACT was 28.

The University of Tulsa Volleyball alumni are invited to a reunion on Friday, September 14, as Tulsa will host No. 10 ranked Dayton in a 7 p.m. matchup.

A reception featuring hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar will kick off the event at 5 p.m. in the President's Suite of the Donald W. Reynolds Center as volleyball alumni will celebrate the career of the first coach in program history, Tom Cairns.

After the reception, alumni are invited to watch the Golden Hurricane take on a Dayton Flyers team that defeated last year's national runner-up Illinois in straight sets to open its season. The match will mark only the second home contest of the season for TU, which returned all six starters and its libero from last year's NCAA Tournament squad.

"It will be great to have our alumni back on campus to honor Coach Cairns," commented Head Coach Steven McRoberts. "He established this program and he paved the way for all of The University of Tulsa volleyball players and coaches. It is our goal to build on this weekend and hopefully create a tradition every year where our alumni can come back to talk about the good times that they had here at TU."
