Golden Hurricane fans will get their first look at the 2000 squad this weekend, as TU hosts the second annual Dr. Tom Cairns Golden Hurricane Classic in the Reynolds Center on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 15-16.

Five teams compose this year's field. In addition to TU, North Texas State, Grambling State, Centenary and Louisiana Tech will compete in the round-robin event.

TU will begin on Friday with North Texas at 2:30 p.m. Last season the Hurricane defeated the Eagles 3-1 in this same event. The Tigers of GSU are next for Tulsa on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. The Hurricane defeated Grambling 3-0 late in the 1999 season.

On Saturday, Tulsa will face Centenary at 3 p.m.. The Ladies of Centenary fell to TU late last season 3-0. Louisiana Tech will be TU's final opponent of the weekend, at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday night. The Lady Techsters will be members of the WAC next season.

All games will be played on the main floor of the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
