TULSA, Okla. - The University of Tulsa volleyball team travels to Norman, Okla., this weekend to face LIU Brooklyn, Miami, and Nebraska Omaha in the Nike Invitational at the McCasland Field House.

The Golden Hurricane starts with a Friday match against LIU at 4 p.m. TU has a 2-0 record against the Blackbirds. The last time these two schools met was in 2008 when the Golden Hurricane swept LIU 3-0 in the Tulsa Invitational.

TU continues the tournament with two matches on Saturday starting with Miami, at 10 a.m. The Hurricanes lead the series 1-0 as UM won 3-0 in Miami in 2001.

Tulsa finishes the tournament against Omaha at 4:30 p.m. UNO leads the series 4-2-1, but TU defeated the Mavericks 3-0 at the Kansas Invitational last season.

TU looks to rebound after Tuesday night's 3-2 (18-25, 20-25, 25-18, 31-29, 13-15) loss to in-state rival Oklahoma at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

Senior outside hitter Kellie Culbertson led the way for TU her ninth double-double of the season with 17 kills and a career-high 30 digs against OU. On the season, the Long Beach, Calif., native leads TU with 2.98 kills per set, 0.61 service aces per set and 4.16 digs per set.

Junior setter Bailey Clampitt recorded her seventh double-double with 48 assists and 15 digs against the Sooners. The Plano, Texas native, who was named Conference USA Setter of the Week on Monday, leads TU with 7.82 assists per set on the season.

Junior middle blocker Carly Boatwright leads TU with 12 solo blocks, 31 total blocks and 0.76 blocks per set. Boatwright recorded 12 kills and had six total blocks, including three solo blocks against OU.

LIU is led by Annika Foit with 4.05 kills per set, Vera Djuric with 9.68 assists per set and Adriana Vinas Joy with 4.26 digs per set.

Miami, is led by Savanah Leaf with 3.79 kills per set, Caitlin Donahoe with 12.75 assists and Ryan Shaffer with 4.71 digs per set.

Omaha is led by Kelly Wollack with 2.70 kills per set, Bailey Baxter with 5.19 assists per set and Kimberly Bailey with 3.59 digs per set.

TU returns home Friday, Sept. 27 for an exhibition match against the Italian U23 at 5 p.m. in the Donald W. Reynolds Center before heading to Birmingham, Ala., for its first C-USA match of the season on Sunday, Sept. 29.
