Volleyball hosts Louisiana Tech on Friday and Southern Miss on Sunday

TULSA, Okla. - The University of Tulsa volleyball team hosts Louisiana Tech on Friday at 7 p.m. and Southern Miss on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
The Hurricane's (18-4, 7-0 C-USA) match against LA Tech (7-16, 1-6 C-USA) will be the Dig Pink match for TU.
Fans are encouraged to wear dark blue shirts in honoring Hal Messersmith, UAB head coach's husband, who passed away of colon cancer. There will also be a silent auction that will consist of two signed jerseys and one signed ball by the Tulsa volleyball players.
The Hurricane will also unveil its 2012 Conference USA championship banner and 2012 NCAA Tournament participant before the match against the Lady Techsters.
Senior outside hitter Kellie Culbertson leads TU with 3.50 kills per set and 0.59 service aces per set, which leads the Conference USA and ranks sixth in the NCAA. The Long Beach, Calif., has recorded 157 career service aces and needs five service aces to set the school record.
The Golden Hurricane has recorded 24 service aces in its last three matches and Culbertson has recorded 11 of those 24 service aces.
LA Tech is led by Xzache Mathis with 3.51 kills per set, Maria Coelho with 8.72 assists per set and Alejandra Aviles with 3.61 digs per set.
Southern Miss (12-10, 3-4 C-USA) is led by Quinci Hayward with 4.09 kills per set, Kristen Fleming with 10.80 assists per set and Mary Pursell with 4.71 digs per set.
The Golden Hurricane travels to Murfreesboro, Tenn., to face Middle Tennessee State on Friday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m.
