TCU Sweeps Golden Hurricane in season series, 3-1

Ft. Worth, Texas- - The University of Tulsa volleyball team lost to TCU in a WAC match in Fort Worth on Friday night, 3-1 (12-15, 15-6, 15-13, 15-4). Tulsa fell to 17-8, 3-8 in the WAC, on the season. TCU improved to 13-14, 5-6 in the WAC.
Sophomore outside hitter Tammy Leuer led the Hurricane attack with 17 kills and a .297 hitting percentage. She also added 10 digs for her second consecutive double-double of the season. Senior outside hitter Kristien Van Lierop also added a double-double to her career, now at 47, with 11 kills and 10 digs. Senior setter Shannon Smith contributed 48 assists and 10 digs for her team-high 10th double-double of the season. Defensively, junior Ashley Frogge recorded six blocks. Leuer also had four blocks for the Hurricane.
The Golden Hurricane blew out in game one with 21 kills and a .327 hitting percentage. However, Tulsa could only record 35 kills in the final three games with a hitting percentage of .082. TCU earned 55 kills and hit at a .264 percentage over the same period.
