TULSA, Okla. - Today's "Hurricane Spotlight" features Tulsa volleyball senior middle blocker Miriele Gobbo. This special feature of "Hurricane Spotlight" will run throughout the academic year.

Gobbo was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week on Monday as she tailed a career-high seven blocks, 10 kills and had a .450 hitting percentage last Friday at Middle Tennessee State.

The Curitba, Brazil leads TU with 48 block assists and with 54 total blocks overall and leads TU with 24 block assists, 27 total blocks and a 0.75 blocks per set in league matches. Gobbo has posted 33 kills and a .365 hitting percentage in her last four matches and has recorded 17 total blocks in her last five matches.

 

 

The volleyball team returns home for its final two home matches on Friday against Tulane at 7 p.m. and Sunday against Marshall at noon.
